Support Workers Not Corporations

“As the coronavirus spreads through the ranks of the nation’s delivery workers, employees and union representatives across the country said there has been a frustrating lack of communication with front-line employees about coronavirus cases from UPS and FedEx. Employees and union officials said that has bred fear and anxiety among more than 600,000 “essential workers” at the country’s two largest corporate delivery companies.” (NBC News 4/14/20 “As deaths mount, delivery workers say they’re kept in the dark over who’s sick”By Lisa Riordan Seville and Adiel Kaplan)

Corporations are sending out polished PR messages to their client base trying to reassure customers that they are putting their worker’s safety first but lots of these frontline workers have claimed that many of these promises of sanitation supplies, protective equipment and critical information is simply propaganda for the companies. Workers continue to be exploited and overworked and now are being put at risk under the threat of contracting coronavirus which could turn into covid-19. These deadly games that corporations are playing with the lives of their workers is peak capitalism and must stop. Put workers first!

A young person with brown skin and a baseball hat carries several cardboard boxes. Text on the boxes states: “SUPPORT WORKERS, NOT CORPORATIONS. PAID FAMILY LEAVE. PAID SICK LEAVE. PROTECTIVE GEAR. HAZARD PAY NOW!” At the bottom of this vibrant pink, green, and yellow image, the words: “ESSENTIAL NOT DISPOSABLE!”
