Four cats spread fresh compost into a new garden bed. One kitty is pregnant. This image is based on a photograph of my husband, our friends Katy and Anastasia, and me when I was 8 months pregnant. We collaborated on installing a greenhouse in our backyard, led by Katy and Anastasia. This image was taken after we had added 2 feet of organic compost to the yard, and built the foundation for the greenhouse. The greenhouse is about to enter its 10th year producing food for our family, which includes a beautiful rosemary bush which has weathered several winters in the unheated greenhouse. The greenhouse has been an amazing garden extender, giving us a couple extra months of produce production every year.
