This digital drawing was originally printed as a three-color silkscreen for Justseeds' 2022 CSA (Community Supported Art, a project to raise funds for Justseeds' projects. Please see here for this year's collection), the theme of which that year was "Hope as a discipline: Rest, Restore, Revolution. Self care as deeper work."

This was my original description of the print:
"Descansar" means "to rest" in Spanish. Sometimes we need a glaring order which says: "Go Rest!" Sure, a nap is one kind of rest, but there is also constructive rest. For me it means going back to drawing by hand, using ink and brush. It means remembering my interest in plants and how I can help myself heal or be calm. The leaves at the feet of the woman in the drawing are from the tila, (tilia cordata) or linden tree which makes a tea good for anxiety.
I referenced the Rider-Waite-Smith Tarot deck for inspiration, not because of some affiliation to it, but because Pamela Colman Smith illustrated this deck in the early 1900s, and I want to pay homage to this early female illustrator who created such an iconic style.
These digital giclee prints are printed on Irish Linen paper and a light crosshatching texture is visible.
