A new rendition of a page from my artist's book Until We Can See Each Other As Free Human Beings, based on the prison letters of communist theorist and agitator Rosa Luxemburg. The image depicts a Cooper’s Hawk ripping up the Audubon folio which once contained him and is inspired by this passage from Rosa’s letters- “It surprises me a little that Karl [Liebknecht] wants a book specifically about bird calls. For me the voice of the birds is inseparable from their habitat and their life as a whole, it is only the whole that interests me, rather than any detached detail. Give him a good book on the geographical distribution of animals, which will certainly give him a lot of stimulation.”
