This is part of a series of images created for the performance project Singing From the Bottom Of A Well, in collaboration with singer Ember Schrag and pedal steel player Susan Alcorn. This project was inspired in part by landai, two-line songs anonymously authored by Pashtun women and collectively remembered through oral tradition.
This image is based on the poem "Give me your hand, my love & let us go into the fields/so we can love each other or fall together beneath the blow of knives."
